OUR FINAL FGF ‘LOT’ MEETING
Over 70 women gathered for our last LOT (Local Organizing Team) meeting on Monday, January 9, 2012. It was a great turn-out in spite of a cold, rainy evening. Once again, the enthusiasm of the women from over 25 churches in the West-Central Texas area is evidence that God is at work and has great purposes for the upcoming Fresh Grounded Faith Conferences. The prayer team gathered early to pray for the various needs of the conference and all those involved. How thankful we are for the efforts and organization of that group! Prayer is undergirding all the preparation as well as the conference itself. A huge thank you to Connie Howard and Nona Horner from Grosvenor Baptist, Mary D. D’Alessio from Union Presbyterian, Brownwood, and Terri Tidwell from FBC Bangs for their leadership!
Each team gave a report of their area. It is amazing to see how the Lord is bringing all of this together through the work of so many in a variety of dominations and communities!
We still have a pressing need for volunteers in a couple of places. The Greeter team is in need of ladies for both conferences, but especially for the Friday conference. A greeter simply welcomes ladies as they arrive and helps direct them to various areas such as the registration table, worship center, restrooms, etc. If you are not helping in another area and would like to be a greeter, contact one of the following: Jody Davis at FUMC Early, Tammy Lynn Rudloff at Rocky Creek Baptist, or Melody Henderson at Victory Life.
The Encourager Team is also in need of more volunteers for both conferences. An encourager will be positioned during decision times to pray with women and visit with them about their spiritual needs. They will be equipped with bookmarks that have the plan of salvation and scriptures for salvation assurance to help as they visit with the women. Professional counselors will also be on hand to visit with anyone who presents with needs that a lay-person is not equipped to counsel. If you are not engaged in another area and would like to serve as an encourager contact one of the following: Debbie Eoff at CABC, Stephanie Lykins at FBC Santa Anna, Ann Johnson at Victory Life, Jackye Leal at CABC, or Cindy Hawkins at FUMC San Saba.
Tickets are still available for the Friday conference. Chick-fil-A is providing lunch for $6 with pre-registration. The CABC ticket leader is Gloria Humphreys , or you can purchase tickets at the Women’s Resource Table on Sundays.
Active duty military women and wives of active duty military men have a special place in the Friday conference. The Fraser Family Foundation is underwriting conference and meal tickets for these women and CABC is providing childcare. Women who are attached to our own Camp Bowie, Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, and Ft. Hood are making plans to attend. What a blessing to have this foundation sponsor these precious women! If you are active duty or married to an active duty man and are interested in attending contact Babs Shields at FUMC Early.
Scholarships for the Friday conference have been generously provided by Texas Bank, Citizens National Bank, Waldrop Construction, Landmark Life Insurance Co., Brownwood Regional Medical Center, Stewart and Margaret Coleman, and Dale Brown. If you or someone you know is in need of a scholarship, please contact Terrie Bitter at CABC. We want every woman God has purposed to be there to be able to attend. And a HUGE thank you to those businesses and individuals for helping make this possible.
We are only four weeks away from our very own Fresh Grounded Faith Conference! Time has rapidly flown by. Be sure and make plans to attend – don’t miss what God is going to do in the lives of over 1,500 hundred women and 30 churches!!!

What a privilege it has been for me to work with women from 30 Churches from across our Region. I can hardly wait to see what the Lord is going to do in the lives of women at these two amazing conferences.
